This book is first and foremost written for the doctor in training and is based on the personal concepts and experiences of the authors gained over the years.
With illustrative case studies, the authors provide the basic anatomy of the anal region as a foundation for the comprehensive and unashamed description of the vast array of anal diseases including congenital disorders and those associated with specific pathological conditions such as cancer. This usually tentatively approached subject is described with vital surgical procedures for catastrophic conditions that, too often, follow the use of inappropriate treatments.
